A short walk down from Turramurra Station, Kipling's manages to balance fine food, good wine and beer with easy-going elegance in a peaceful locale, not such a common feat north of Crows Nest. Even better, honouring its car-related history, you can park right outside. Lenny Ann Low - SMH goodfoodMenuSee Review
Kipling’s Garage Bar is housed in a former auto service garage in Sydney’s Upper North Shore. The once 1920’s garage now features a chic industrial setting serving up elegant, rustic, honest ‘street food’ tapas menu that flicks your senses from classic, nostalgic flavours to new, inspired dishes cooked by super-skilled Chef, Thiago Menezes. The casual neighborhood spot serves classic and modern spirits, craft beers, ciders alongside expertly selected wines featuring a kaleidoscope of vintages and varieties from Australia, Europe, and Latin America.

Taking inspiration from around the world, all the dishes on our dinner menu are designed for sharing and our delectable lunch menu is À la carte designed as starters, mains & dessert. Using incredible Australian produce, and paired with ingredients so good they really speak for themselves. It’s this sophisticated balance of influences that defines Kipling’s and sets it apart as a truly unique wine bar and restaurant.

The wine is a great example of how these two Spanish varieties complement each other. Berry, dark rose and spice notes frame the palate in a medium weight, juicy wine. It is well balanced and supported by fine tannins and structural acid. The wine was fermented in open top vessels to gently extract varietal flavour, perfume and natural elegant tannin. It was matured for 17 months in a combination of 2nd and 3rd fill French and American oak barriques.
